Hi
my name is Amanda, I am a cookery teacher, (I love food!) and specialise in teaching children with learning and behavioural difficulties. I am also currently part way through my PGCE qualification. That is just one of my jobs as I also run a children’s cookery company - setting it up twelve years ago when I took a career break from a different career to have three children - all boys now aged 14, 16 and 19 years.
The reason for joining fit farm is to do something for myself (and also spend some time with my mum who is coming to fit farm with me for the week). Although family life is still very busy, I love my second career but I am also conscious that I need to take time out for myself - not only for this 1 week but also going forward with my life. Before children - I really don’t know where the last 20 years have gone - I was always physically active and was a member of a gym attending on a regular basis, hill walking, skiing etc I know I am not as fit or healthy as I would like to be and really need that kick start, away from all distractions.

Looking forward to meeting all the fit farm staff and fellow fit farm students.

Amanda

Hi Amanda,
I am coming to the Easter course and although I have been once before it feels a long time ago !
I haven't been as fit as I could and looking after my three children and my bees has taken it out of me. I am really looking forward to getting back my mojo and understanding why my fitness levels have gone down. I 've never been to this part of the country and am particularly looking forward to exploring the area. I have been informed that my great grandfather was born in Matlock:)
See you tomorrow:)

Hi everyone, I'm Gillian, and I'll be joining you tomorrow for the 7 day course. I've been to FitFarms once, a couple of years ago, also at the Derbyshire venue. It's an exhausting week, but you start to feel better after a few days. Once my body was over the shock I really enjoyed myself. Unfortunately I have put on quite a bit of weight since then, and have become very unfit. But hey, that's why I’m coming!

Looking forward to meeting you all,
Gillian

Hello All,

My name is Lorraine and myself and my mam will be joining ye from
Ireland tomorrow.
I started a great but hetic job in September and as a result have developed some very bad habits ..... sitting on the couch in the evenings!!! I have become addicted to sugar. Lots of sugar and zero exercise don't make for a happy healthy life. I want to kick start a healthy lifestyle and have dragged my mam along.

Looking forward to meeting everyone.
Safe travels

Hi

My name is Laura. I am 24 years old. This is the first time I am doing fit farm. I was always the fat girl at school. The 9 stone 9 year old. The 12 stone 12 year old. Since then I lost quiet a lot of weight. I have always struggled keeping my weight off. I loose it then put bits back on again. A year and a half ago I stopped smoking this made me gain a bit of weight. I'm not unfit since I stopped smoking I go to the GYM and exercise classes often. I just love food. I binge eat, eat my emotions often. I need to gain some control back around food. The money I've saved from stopping smoking I have spent on this. I am slightly nervous but I'm sure it will be fine.

I want further inspiration too keep my weight off since stopping smoking.

See you soon.
Laura ;)

Hi Everyone,

I'm Angela. Not so fit at the moment and definaty in need of a wee kick start to get back into a healthy lifestyle. Have been out of exercise due to injury and I'm a total foodie which doesn't make a great combo. Looking forward to meeting everyone and having some fun, well hopefully! :P I'm looking forward to getting some fresh air so I hope the weather is good to us.

See you tomorrow, Angx

Hi everyone! I'm Sally and I'm travelling up to Matlock to join the 5 day course . I've always looked at courses like this and thought that I'd love to do them to kick start a healthier life style but could never see anyway that I could do it, as I have 3 youngish children . But my husband has taken the kids to Australia this Easter to stay with his sister and as I have a flying phobia I couldn't go . So thought Id take the opportunity to do something for myself that would make me feel I've achieved something.
I'm not very fit, have got a bit of a sugar reliance and a roll of fat round my middle which is set to get larger if I don't take action now!
Everything about this course is out of my comfort zone - driving on my own to get there, doing lots of exercise and new things that I'm not very good at , with lots of people that I don't know ! So I'm nervous but also quite excited as I think it will do me good to jog myself out of my cosy little middle aged comfort zone !!! Anyway, am looking forward to meeting you all soon ! Sally

Hi everyone- I'm Catherine and should be joining you today but as I have had a nasty virus I won't make it til tomorrow. I have done this course 2 years ago and it was fantastic- but I have a very demanding job as a teacher and have fallen back into bad habbits. I think this is the fatest and unfirtest I have ever been and coming up to 50 years old. So I definitely need to change but am pretty nervous about the course. It was helpful to read all your posts- thank-you! I look forward to meeting you all tomorrow.
